MASA is a program for the cultural development of African performing Arts. It was officially launched at the Second Conference of Ministers for Culture and French speaking countries in Liege (Belgium), back in 1990. The decision to create this market was taken in order to develop the skills of the African professionals of living arts (music, theater, dance) and to grant African productions and performers access to the international market.
