Over the months of October and November 2017, Arterial Network is celebrating Africa’s musical talent by participating in three prestigious, international events, namely the World Music Expo – WOMEX (Poland), ACCES – The Music in Africa Conference For Collaborations, Exchange And Showcases (Senegal) and Visa For Music (Morocco).
WOMEX 2017 took place in Katowice, southern Poland, from the 25th to the 29th of October 2017. Described as “the most international music meeting in the world,” WOMEX is an invaluable platform for diverse music professionals to network with the global music industry. For the second year in a row, Arterial Network participated as a network partner.
The Music In Africa Conference For Collaborations, Exchange And Showcases (known simply as ACCES), will take place in Dakar, Senegal, over the 17th and 18th of November 2017. The first conference took place in 2016 on the margins of the Music In Africa Foundation’s AGM Plus programme. The programme for the second edition intends to benefit local stakeholders and visiting delegates through training workshops, panel discussions, presentations, live performances, networking sessions, exhibitions and visits to key music industry hubs across Dakar. Arterial Network members who will take part in the conference include Mamou Daffe (Chairperson of Arterial Network, Mali) and Ghita Khaldi (Arterial Network Steering Committee Representative for North Africa, Morocco), as well as Chairperson of the Music in Africa Foundation and Arterial Network Ambassador, Aisha Dème (Senegal), and Artwatch Africa Ambassadors, Didier Awadi (Senegal) and Ade Bantu (Nigeria).
Visa For Music will round up the season in Rabat, Morocco, from the 22nd to the 25th of November. Visa For Music is the first professional music market for Africa and the Middle East. For its 4th edition, it has over 30 showcases planned, along with lectures, film screenings, workshops, training sessions and more. Arterial Network will have a trade stand at the event (stand number 225) in order to connect face-to-face with diverse music professionals and present the benefits of joining a Pan-African association for arts and cultural.
